Allen Halliwell (1930[1]—January 13, 1967[2]) was a mortal, the first husband of Penny Halliwell and the father of Patty. He was killed on the night of the magical be-in.
Biography[]
Allen had a sister named Janice. He met and entered into a romantic relationship with Penny Johnson, whose identity as a witch he had no problem with, and had a daughter named Patty with her when she was twelve and he was twenty.[1] Although Penny had an affair with Armand some time before Patty's wiccaning,[3] Allen and Penny later married and brought up their daughter at 1329 Prescott Street. Allen's involvement in the hippie subculture influenced Penny to become a flower child and to view vanquishing demons as immoral.
On January 13, 1967, Allen and Penny held a magical be-in for witches and whitelighters, with a detour to a drum circle. During the be-in, he was killed by Robin after walking in on her casting a spell to nullify the pyrite crystals. Penny walked in immediately afterwards and "ended" Robin, renouncing her pacifist ways and becoming a hardened demon-fighter.
However, the timeline was altered by Paige Matthews, who time-travelled back from 2004 and befriended Allen and Penny without telling them of her identity. Piper and Phoebe later followed and witnessed Paige averting Allen's death by killing Robin. This resulted in a timeline in which Penny remained a pacifist flower child. However, the timeline was more-or-less restored when Allen jumped in front of Nigel's fireball to save Penny.[2]
Penny remarried four[4] or six times.[5] She believed that her great-grandson Wyatt had a resemblance to Allen.[6]

- On the family tree, Patty's father is listed as Jack Halliwell. This was later retconned by Witchstock, which named him Allen.
